“George Toparceanu” School opened its gates in 1996. It is a public school, which receives its funding from the Romanian Government.

Today the school has 646 students, 346 being between 6 and 10 years old and representing the primary level and 301 being between 11 and 14 years old and representing the secondary level.

Our institution also has 47 teachers for the primary and also the secondary levels, who teach subjects which are part of the Romanian National Curriculum.

“George Toparceanu” School is focused on the values and the democratic principles, on the involvement of the community in the school’s activities and also extending school services for the community.

The educational climate of the school is based on efficiency, on honest and transparent competition, on cooperation and encouragement of self initiative and on didactic innovation which are meant to sustain the individual development of every student and equality of chances through education.

During their secondary school our students take part in many important contests, some of them national contests, in the fields of Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Sports but also Romanian and Foreign Languages.

After graduating the secondary school, many of our students attend the best high schools in the county.

Our institution gives special attention to some of our students who come from orphanages. The children are treated with special attention by their teachers and maintained under special observation by the school’s psychologist.

Our school considers that a permanent bound between family, school and the local authorities is necessary in order to give students a solid and firm base in their education.
